The Cairns and District Senior Citizens Association was established in 1974 with the aim of providing social activities and events for senior citizens aged 50 and over.
We are passionate about our community and see the value in having a space where people feel safe and welcome, where they can be themselves and explore new opportunities, build friendships and gain new skills
As a completely volunteer based association, we truly appreciate each and every one of our members, and have a good understanding of the needs of the senior citizen community as a whole, enabling us to create events and programs that will ensure you get the very best out of your membership and your time with us.
Volunteers are always welcome, no matter what your background or level of experience and we work hard to engage with you to meet your needs with flexibility and support.
We engage volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences including retirees, FNQV, Centrelink, students NDIS, workers comp, new migrants, helping to meet their special needs and to ensure that they practice within their comfort zone.
An all-inclusive association we are open to people of all abilities and we provide easy access parking, ramps and toileting facilities, to ensure that all of our members are comfortable and can visit us easily and safely.
As a social club based on the well-being of our members we are always looking to expand and not only invite the community to become members, but also to volunteer with us, and help us shape and create the programs and events that we offer.
